Brittany Black
Brittany Black is a senior at Brooklyn College, graduating in summer 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. Brittany was born and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and discovered theater in the sixth grade in the middle school drama club Lights! Camera! Action!, which taught musical theater and improv and launched her into the world of theater. Brittany always wanted to move into New York and study the different aspects of theater especially acting and directing. She has been in various productions at different colleges, including Unbridled: The First Year Showcase , a 10 minute play, The New New by Kelly Stuart (Naomi), at Long Island University/CW Post, The Laramie Project at Kingsborough Community College (ensemble), Our Lady of 121st Street (Pinky) at Borough of Manhattan Community College, in The 27 Club by Richard Vargas (Michelle, staged reading) and Unpredictable by Namon Frank, as the Narrator (Brooklyn College). Brittany has also been involved in directing projects: The Closer by Patrick Mauber (a scene) at Borough of Manhattan Community College, Freddy Fenler by Stephen Velelis, at Brooklyn College, and is working on Playwriting 101: The Rooftop Lesson by Rich Orloff part of the One Acts Festival at City College of New York. Brittany is looking forward to working with Stageplays Theatre Company to enrich her skills and craft as an artist. She plans in the future going to a conservatory and/or graduate school in acting not only to better understand the craft but also to become a better human being.
