Gerry Goodstein (Photographer)

Served as assistant to theater and dance photographer Martha Swope from 1973-1975.  Since 1975, Gerry has photographed roughly 2,000 productions on, Off, Off-Off Broadway and in a number of regional theaters around the country.  The Pulitzer Prize-winning productions of Talley’s Folly, Torch Song Trilogy and Crimes Of The Heart are among his credits.  Gerry's greatest joy has been establishing long term relationships with the theater companies he has worked for.  For 15 or more seasons each, Gerry proudly served as company photographer for Classic Stage Company, Jean Cocteau Rep., Repertorio Espanol, Theatre For A New Audience, The Irondale Ensemble, Circle Rep., Manhattan Theatre Club, Paper Mill Playhouse, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Connecticut Repertory Theatre and Walnut Street Theatre.  His photos have appeared in all major media and a number of theater text books as well as in the published editions of dozens of plays.  The International Center of Photography exhibition, "Broadway Photos of the 20th Century," included some of Gerry’s work and he has previously exhibited at Phebe’s in the East Village.
