James Mussen (Multi-Media/Information Technology)
James Mussen is Multi-Media and Recording Artist and Information Technology (IT) Specialist who provides consulting for business IT support and assistance to recording projects, studios, and musicians. Jim has handled production coordination and contracting of musicians, equipment, and facilities for both recording and concert events and occasionally for tour tech support. He has worked extensively with multi-media performers, theater groups, and dancers, has engineered and served as co-producer on a variety of albums, singles, soundtracks, and recording projects, and created sound design and sample library development for musicians and producers.
Jim has performed nationally and internationally as a drummer and percussionist with a wide variety of performers including such diverse groups and recording artists as Ashford and Simpson, Joan Osborne, Mary J. Blige, Mimi Goese/Ben Neill, K-ci and Jojo, Maxwell, Ofra Haza, D’Angelo, Mtume, BB King, Chaka Khan, and Al Green, among others. He has performed and produced drum programming on many records, commercial jingles, and film soundtracks. In addition to his more commercial activities, Jim also provides private instruction and electronic drums and digital music systems consultation.
