Cindy O’Connor (Composer)
Is a composer, arranger and performer for theater, film and TV. Her collaborations with Stageplays include composing the score for the company’s world premiere, Off Broadway productions of Kathleen Anderson Culebro’s La Llorona/The Crying Woman, and Paul Enger’s In The Air. Her musical All That He Was won the Kennedy Center/ACTF National Musical Theater Award and is published by Samuel French. Other musicals have been finalists for the Eugene O’Neill Theater Conference and the STAGES Festival in Chicago. Cindy has won several ASCAP Plus Awards for her theater work and was a featured presenter in the Festival of the Human Voice in Sitges, Spain. Her film credits include original music for the independent feature Forgiving the Franklins, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and Brian DePalma’s The Black Dahlia., as well as arranging and programming for Bobby, the Academy-Award-winning Crash, Eight Below,and Miracle and Spartan, among many others. As a keyboard player and vocalist, she spent several years in rock superstar Pat Benatar’s touring band, sang an a cappella rendition of an entire Who album with Petra Haden and The Sellouts, and played at the North Sea Jazz Festival with Mark Isham.
