Kathleen Anderson Culebro is the author of several plays, including A Leopard Complains of Its Spots, which premiered Off-Off-Broadway in New York City (Pantheon Theater) and was extended for an additional two week run (2001). Her play, La Llorona, was produced at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas, and earned sixth place nationally in the KCACTF competition. Other plays include A Crazy Love of Things: The Words and Works of Pablo Neruda, commissioned for TCU's Latin American Arts Festival and outreach program (2004), and More Than Half Empty: The Pessimist Plays, which will be workshopped in New York by Amphibian Productions in the spring of 2005.
Also a designer, Kathleen has designed sets for 4 Edges (Hays Theater, FW), Leonce and Lena (Connelly Theater, NYC), Three Days of Rain (Hays Theater, FW), and Burn This (Studio Theater, FW). Costume design credits include A Room of One's Own (Sanders Theater, FW), Three Days of Rain (Hays Theater, FW), Macbeth (Hays Theater, FW), and The Lost Moment (Studio Theater, FW).
Born and raised in Mexico City, Kathleen earned a B.A. in French Literature from Brigham Young University, and a B.F.A. in Theatre/Television from Texas Christian University, where she currently teaches in both the Department of Theatre and the Department of Radio/Television/Film.
Kathleen has served as Artistic Director of Amphibian Productions, a theater company that produces works in both Fort Worth and New York, since its creation in 2000. She is a member of the Dramatist's Guild.
