Submissions
Playwrights - New Plays and Musicals
Stageplays Theatre Company seeks to discover new plays and musicals for the American theatre which address the issues of our times. We ask that playwrights call our office and speak with us when preparing to submit their works for consideration. We are unique in that we are pleased to speak with authors about their plays in advance of receiving them. We are interested in what you are writing about, the play's theme, story and characters. We are curious about the play's developmental history, if any, and any artists who might be attached to the project.
We do not wish to receive any unsolicited manuscripts, synopses, tapes, CDs, or letters or e-mails of inquiry.
If you will take the time to call and speak with us, we will be happy to give you an immediate answer as to whether or not we wish to read your play or musical based our affinity for the material and what you tell us about it.
If we are not in the office when you call, please leave a message on our answering machine with a number where you can be reached and we will call you back - sooner than you expect!
Actors - Pictures and Resumes
Stageplays Theatre Company has on open submission
policy and is pleased to accept pictures and resumes from
actors at any time. The company schedules general auditions
and interviews periodically on an ongoing basis. When casting
for a particular project, the company will list a complete
casting breakdown with Breakdown Services and place a project
description and casting notice in Backstage (also
listed on www.Backstage.com).
Please mail in your picture and resume submissions to our company office address. We do not wish to receive submissions electronically or via delivery, unless specifically requested. Although we appreciate the care and attention given to the creation of video reels, we are a theatre company and believe that tape submissions are not appropriate to the medium in which we create our art.
We are pleased to receive invitations to plays, showcase productions, presentations, readings, industry scene nights and graduating student showcases.

We are pleased to accept resumes from Directors and Choreographers, and appreciate being informed of your work when it is in performance in hopes that we might experience it during production.
